Learning Experience Design
A selection of curriculum, video, and interactive training projects — built to turn dense, technical content into learning experiences people actually retain.
Digital Onboarding Training Series: The Economics of an Engagement
Role: Art Director / Training Specialist
Challenge: Consulting teams needed an intuitive way to understand how pricing, staffing mix, and utilization interact to drive engagement profitability. Concepts are typically buried in static spreadsheets and hard for non-financial audiences to internalize.
Approach: Designed and built an interactive margin calculator that lets learners adjust four key business levers in real time and watch the financial impact cascade through a live margin waterfall — turning an abstract financial model into a hands-on, exploratory learning tool. Designed and built a training course in Articulate 360 using Storyline and videos.
Outcome: Delivered a self-directed training tool that made engagement economics tangible and memorable, replacing a passive lecture-style explanation with active, experiential learning.
Interactive Calculator:
To make engagement economics tangible for learners, I designed an interactive calculator that turns four key financial levers into a hands-on exploration tool.
pricing
billable time
contractor cost
utilization
Rather than reading margin math off a spreadsheet, learners drag sliders and watch a live margin waterfall respond in real time, building intuition for how each variable affects profitability.
The application within the eLearning course demonstrates both instructional design thinking and interface craft: translating a dense financial concept into an approachable, self-directed learning experience.
Digital Onboarding Training Series: Global Pharmaceutical Client
Role: Art Director / Training Specialist
Challenge: A global pharmaceutical company needed to onboard 15 distinct user roles onto a newly implemented digital platform designed to guide teams through the clinical trial process — a workflow with significant regulatory complexity and no room for user confusion.
Approach: Partnered closely with the Creative Director to design and produce a series of 15 role-specific training videos, each tailored to the exact tasks, permissions, and decision points relevant to that role within the platform. Focused on translating dense technical and regulatory process steps into clear, visual, sequential storytelling that different audiences — from clinical coordinators to trial administrators — could follow without additional support.
Outcome: Delivered a scalable video training library that reduced onboarding friction across 15 role types, supporting consistent platform adoption across a complex, highly regulated clinical trial workflow.
eLearning Course: Financial Compliance
Role: Art Director / Training Specialist
Challenge: A large financial services firm operated across 9 internal teams, each with its own workflow and system for tracking compliance-related work. This created inconsistency that put the company at risk of failing SEC audit standards, with significant financial penalties on the line if gaps went uncorrected.
Approach: Spent three months embedded with the organization, studying existing workflows and participating in human-centered design workshops with each team to surface how compliance work actually happened day-to-day versus how it was assumed to happen. Synthesized those findings into a unified training framework, then partnered with a copywriter to translate the research into a clear, engaging eLearning course that met SEC standards while speaking to the real working habits of a diverse, cross-functional audience.
Outcome: Delivered a compliance training course adopted across all 9 teams, closing the SEC standards gap.
One of the most telling signals of success: an 18-year veteran employee who took the course said she not only enjoyed it but learned something new! A strong indicator the training resonated even with the most experienced, tenured staff.
Digital Supplier Training: Engagement and Well-being Playbook
Patient Care Management Training: University
Role: Art Director / Training Specialist
Challenge: A university hospital's patient care call center was transitioning to a new call system that introduced new policies, procedures, and AI-assisted tools designed to help staff work more efficiently, but the shift required call center employees to quickly master new technology without losing the compassionate, patient-first tone essential to handling calls from patients in need of care.
Approach: Designed and built a training course in Articulate 360, creating custom video and motion design content along with original illustrations built to match the hospital's brand color palette. Focused on making a technical systems transition feel human — using visual storytelling to reinforce not just how to use the new AI-assisted tools, but why they existed: to free up staff attention for what mattered most, the patient on the line.
Outcome: Delivered a polished, on-brand training experience that supported a smooth transition to new call center technology while keeping compassionate patient care at the center of the training narrative.
